Every corrected answer, explained

A model answer alone doesn't teach you why it scores well. In every corrected example across the guide, the advanced structures are underlined and numbered — a connector, a tense shift, a concession, a hypothesis — and a note right below explains exactly what it does and why it's worth reusing.

Underlined

Spot the structure

Connectors, tenses, nuance markers

Each mark has its own explanation

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does this guide cover the whole TCF, or just part of it?

It covers the two optional sections candidates dread the most: speaking and writing. These aren't the comprehension sections — they're the ones where a method and corrected examples make the biggest difference to your score.

What language is the guide written in?

The guide is written entirely in French, since that's the best way to actually practice for a French exam. Task instructions and a handful of the most important explanations are also given in English, so you're never stuck on what a task is asking.

What level do I need to use this guide?

It's built for candidates around B1 aiming for B2. Every model answer is corrected at the target B2 level, and key instructions are explained in English so nothing gets lost along the way.

What are the annotations in the corrected answers?

In every model answer, advanced grammar structures (connectors, tense shifts, concessions, hypotheticals...) are underlined and numbered. Right below, each number is explained: why that structure scores well, and how to reuse it yourself.

Are the mock exams under real exam conditions?

Yes. Same number of tasks, same timings, same formats as the official TCF. Each mock exam draws on two of the 9 themes from Chapter 3, but with new situations you haven't seen before, for a genuine test of your reflexes.

What format is it, and can I print it?

A single PDF file, laid out for printing with optimized margins. You can read it on screen or print it, on any device, with no app or account required.
